New Zealand - Bay of Islands

We have been in the Bay of Islands for just five days and it has been rush, rush, rush. As Dylan is returning to South Africa for a short holiday and Frank is returning home to Oregon life has been full of chores, tours, and dining out. It has been great! On Monday we took a tour of Paihia, a little town just to the NW of Opua, where we are anchored! It is the hotspot of the area and has all the shops and attractions that every tourist could dream of! The roads are quiet and the lifestyle seems rather relaxed. Of course it is not high season just yet. That is in about 3 weeks time! We have loads of plans for surfing, diving, sailing the islands, snorkeling, kayaking, soaking up some sun and also a little relaxing!

Our movements are not definite but we hope to include a trip down to Auckland, where we will be central, to participate in tours down to South Island. Will keep you updated as it all unfurls! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
