It was a special day for us all to be heading down south
on Firebird towards an anchorage we would call our own
for the day! Tihoti, Pauline, Oihanu and Heiura were aboard
and the weather was just great. We motored for about an
hour along the West coast of Huahine, within the protection
of the barrier reef, and just after the bay which seperates
Huahine Nui from Huahine Iti we anchored in 20 foot of
crystal clear water with a sandy bottom. A fantastic lunch
was had under the shaded protection of our awning, on
the open deck and shortly thereafter the lot of us were
in the smooth, silky, warm waters of the lagoon. Tihoti
took a swim out to the barrier reef, and along with the
magnificent coral banks, found hundreds and thousands
of sea urchins. Pauline and Vicki each paddled on a kayak
accompanied by one of the kids each. Jim and Dylan snorkeled
around the expansive sand bar, and all in all, the afternoon
was highly enjoyable.
As is often the case with the best days in your life, they
always seem to come to an end so very quickly! It was very
quickly time to head back to the anchorage at Fare and drop
off our friends. Such happiness and contentment are truly
addictive. Thank you for sharing with us a day aboard Firebird.
We hope to see you again soon.
